Everyone’s silver hair journey is unique. Mine started a little differently.
I began coloring my hair in my early twenties, not to cover gray, but simply because I liked the look. The problem was that I could never keep up with the salon appointments. Before long, my roots would show, and they always bothered me. No matter how much I loved the color, I didn’t love the maintenance.
Eventually, I stopped coloring my hair and returned to my natural color. So when my first silver strands appeared, I never felt the need to hide them. Instead, I embraced them.
For me, going silver wasn’t about giving up, it was about embracing authenticity.
As more silver came in, I found myself becoming more confident. What surprised me most was how many compliments I received. Strangers stopped me in the streets asking if I colored grays into my hair and many women congratulated me saying they admired my courage for going natural.
For me, going silver wasn’t about giving up, it was about embracing authenticity. After years of trying to keep up with coloring, I realized my natural silver was the most beautiful look I’d ever worn.

My grey hair journey didn’t start just once; it started twice. My first attempt was during the lockdowns. With everything shut down, it felt like the perfect time to stop coloring my hair. I made significant progress and truly thought I was going to see it through. But when businesses started reopening, I was back…

I deeply respect it…honor it… and continue covering it with unwavering commitment.😂 But truly, I love that women are feeling empowered to choose whatever version of themselves makes them feel beautiful, silver included. I also love the confidence and freedom behind the “go silver” movement… there’s something really special about women embracing themselves exactly…

I’m a Hairdresser and started going grey about 3years ago and being an unconventional Hairdresser with grey hair and loving it.
