Sara's SILVR Story

Porto, PortugalShared May 27, 2026

My silver journey started in May 2024, after significant hair loss made me realize I could no longer ignore what my body was trying to tell me.

Sara’s story

At first, I tried to transition slowly through highlights and grey blending, hoping to make the change softer and less visible. Instead, my hair became even more damaged, and I eventually had to cut it very short… one of the hardest moments of the process.

There were moments I almost gave up. Moments I felt exposed and unfinished.

But somewhere in that uncomfortable transition, something shifted.

It makes me feel more honest, grounded, and free from the pressure to constantly correct myself.

Sara

Today, my silver hair doesn’t make me feel older. It makes me feel more honest, grounded, and free from the pressure to constantly correct myself.

What started because of hair loss became a journey back to myself.

Almost 5 years ago I decided to stop using dye; I used to dye my hair every 2 weeks and my scalp was always very irritated. I made the decision in a few days, simply because the formula of the dye I used changed, and I got so upset that I decided to quit.…
